Abbey Laith and other NXT releases

Abbey Laith, formerly known on the indie circuit as Kimber Lee, has been released from NXT. Laith was an exciting sign with a large indie fan base but was used sparingly on tv after the Mae Young Classic. No official reason has been given at this time. Joining her are Gu Guanming and Sage Beckett.

Guangming was an amateur, champion boxer from Mudanjiang, China and was signed in 2016 after attending WWE tryouts in Shangahi. He made two appearances in 2017, once as an enforcer for Kona Reeves and later, in an in-ring loss to Angelo Dawkins. Before wrestling he competed in boxing's super-heavy weight division and represented China at the 2013 AIBA World Boxing Championships and the in 2014 at the Asian Games. Gu stands at an astonishing 6' 8" and weighs in at over 285 lbs.

Beckett is a former TNA regular (Rosie Lottalove/Andrea) who signed with the WWE in early 2017. She competed mostly at NXT Live events but was also an entrant in the Mae Young Classic. She was eliminated by Bianca Belair in the first round.
