Canadian native Joe Doering has won the All Japan Pro Wrestling Triple Crown Championship just one year after being diagnosed with a brain tumor which required surgery and chemotherapy. He returned to the ring in January 2017 in a six-man tag match, participated in the 2017 AJPW Champion Carnival making it to the finals, and finally defeating former partner Suwama for the Triple Crown Championship for a second time. He had brain surgery on March 4, 2017. He was back in the ring on January 2, 2017. Let that sink in.
