New Japan announces new departures

New Japan Pro Wrestling announced two departures - Michael Elgin and Teruaki Kanemitsu.

Elgin has been with the company since 2015 appearing for the first time at the GI Climax. He officially signed a contract with them in February 2016. He held the IWGP Intercontinental Championship and NEVER Openweight Championship during his time in New Japan. Kanemitsu was a young lion that suffered a severe spine injury in December 2016 that put him out of action for almost 2 years. He has wrestled only one match since making his return to the ring during the NJPW Road to Tokyo Dome tour in last December.
